Performance Point CTP3 Issues

I've been deploying Performance Point since its early beta and with CTP 3 its gotten even easier.  Unfortunately after deploying to a particular server I was getting a weird error when it tried to render the scorecard or dashboard web parts.

Eventually I found this post http://rosshawkins.net/rosshawkins.nsf/archive/microsoft-ajax-extensions-sys.debug-is-null-or-not-an-object.html

which talked about AJAX extensions not being properly removed.  So after manually deleting the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft ASP.NET\ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions\v1.0.61025\MicrosoftAjaxLibrary\System.Web.Extensions\1.0.61025.0\debug" and
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft ASP.NET\ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions\v1.0.61025\MicrosoftAjaxLibrary\System.Web.Extensions\1.0.61025.0\release" directories then removing then reinstalling the latest AJAX extensions and restarting, it all started working again.

Content Query Web Part for Blogs Cont'd

One other issue using the content query web part for the purposes of displaying the latest 10 posts.  It just so happens that the Group By filter takes precedence over the Sort By filter.  So if you want to list the latest 10 posts along with grouping by the poster name, then all youll get is the the first 10 posts according to whose name is first so if two people have names that start with A and each has 5 posts youl only get the posts from those two people and the web part will ignore the rest.  This may not be the best web part to use for listing the latest posts.

Content Query Web Part for Blogs.

As you may notice on the main page when clicking on any of the more recent posts it will prompt for a username and password.  This only occurs when anonyomus access is being used.  It turns out that Microsoft has exactly the same problem.  If you go to http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/blogs/
You will notice the message about how they are currently working on a fix for this.

Access Denied with administrator access in Vista

A simple tip is during certain situations when a file has been transferred from another domain it becomes a blocked file.  So if you get an access denied message even if you are the local administrator you may want to just right click on the file to access its properties and uncheck the new option block file.  If you wanted to you could also go into HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Associations

and add whatever extenstions you need to the "Lowriskfiletypes" dword.
